My appointment was on time. The Nurse was friendly yet professional. She had a trainee nurse who she introduced, this young women was also very pleasant and professional...she was also chatty and interested in her work.
The lead nurse talked through each stage of my yearly assessment and as my medication is keeping my asthma under control I needed no referral. All in all a very positive and cheery check up from Seaforth Surgery.

Shame there isn’t an excellent option above. The receptionist was friendly and incredibly helpful and Dr Fish was able to provide supportive explanations and checks which then led to a plan and understanding ways to help both myself and my daughter more independently. I was incredibly impressed! Thank you to all involved, after experiencing very negative health care at the EDGH, it was thankfully met with a complete contrast in care at Hailsham Medical Centre. Thank you.

You have one older member of the reception staff that acts like a blocking bodyguard rather than being a helpful member of staff. I have had several experiences with this woman where she refuses to listen to your problem and actually makes you feel like an inconvenience. I have a severve infection but i got so angry and upset by being dismissed yet angain by her that i drove to the surgery in a state just to get the help i needed. When i arrived i finally got the help i needed but you shouldnt need to feel so degraded and so angry you end up shaking and crying to get basic healthcare

My appointment was at 7:30. I arrived at approx 7:25, rang the doorbell, no one came to answer. Someone opened the door at about 7:29. I checked in on the screen, and sat and waited. I had not been called, and at approximately 7:50 I asked a nurse (who came out to call someone else) if the nurse I was seeing is in today as I’ve been waiting 20 minutes. She said she would go and find out and never came back. By this point, 2 more people had joined for their appointments with the same nurse, who I had not yet seen. Reception decided to open at 8:05, to which it took them 10 minutes to come back and say the nurse wasn’t in. I had been waiting 40 minutes at this point! I aim for the earlier appointments so I can get to work on time, but due to this, I was late to work. I was then told I was booked for a blood test, which is incorrect, I was only booked for a pill check which is usually just blood pressure but the receptionist repeated that I was booked for a blood test. Instead, they sent the pill check questionnaire and I did my blood pressure on the machine in reception. Not sure why I needed to book an appointment in the first place if I could have just done this!
The early appointment system doesn’t work if you do not have reception starting at that time too - there’s no one to organise or sort issues like this!

The door where my consultation took place was opened two or three times by other people. An 'Engaged' notice was needed on the outside of the door to prevent this from happening.

I booked online. The first time I've booked an appointment this way. The system is good but slightly confusing. I got, an appointment very quickly for the same day.
The Dr was understanding and showed interest in my description of my problem.
He reassured me that he believed there was no immediate concerns but suggested blood tests. I booked the blood test with the receptionist for 3 days time.
A hassle free visit and the booking system works.

The lack of consideration and understanding in this gp surgery is beyond insane. Waiting 5 weeks for something that has actively been causing me pain for months now, but I’ve just been dismissed off the waiting list and thrown to the back as what I’m discussing isn’t worth being a priority.

In recent months I have had a few appointments. All nurse apoiments are fine however iv had one on the 17th May where the Dr said she had sent me for tear 3 weight loss and if I don't here from them within 2 months to call the GP to escalate however when calling yesterday I was advised this was not correct and the Dr gave miss information
2nd appointment on 24/6 the Dr said thay Monjaro was being prescribed for crushings, and he would talk to a senior Dr regarding a prescription and contact me back. On chasing this iv been told this is also miss information and to date had no contact from the Dr to discuss further.
Your use messaging system is also being abused by your admin staff. It's great to have that as a way of contact however your team seem to close the chats down when they don't want a reply which then doesn't allow me to ask further questions or get advise. Iv asked repeatedly on my messages for a face to face appointment and all I get is copy and paste messages and it's closed. No appointment or advise is offered
I called yesterday to book an appointment and asked a question where she said she would call back but again sent me a message that I can't reply too.
There seems to be a lot of lies/miss information/closing of chats so you can't ask questions or seek further help.

The doctor I saw about my sons rash, didn’t take his temperature, or touch his rash, literally just prescribed him some steroid ointment told me to use it for 2 weeks on affected area and off we went didn’t say what it was or anything, it got worse after he woke up from a nap which ultimately made me more worried so contacted 111 who done a referral to DGH who saw him and said don’t use the ointment as this isn’t anything worrying really it’s contact dermatitis. Whilst seeing the doctor I felt as though it was a case of us going in sitting for 2 minutes and then out the door again I don’t even think the seat got warm that’s how quick it was for the doctor to prescribe unnecessary steroid ointment which I had to travel to 4 different pharmacies to get. My son is 2 and a half years old non verbal and cannot say if he’s in pain, I feel as though as a parent I was not listened to properly, and unnecessary to prescribe something he didn’t even need. Since being seen in DGH yesterday (14th July 2025) this morning the rash has gone, because I was listened to by the doctors in the DGH and was told exactly what it was causing the rashes and eliminated potential causes.

The digital pad did not work for me. When I signed in on the digital pad, it wouldn’t accept me and told to try again. Which I did 3 times. It was within my appointment time. I had to go down corridor to find the nurse where my appointment was and she informed me that the system had accepted me.

Condultation with paramedic helpful, following previous 2 e consults. Fit note for 2 weeks to be sent to me ,me to chase up xray from request on 26th june, naproxen and omeprazole prescription to be sent to Seaforth pharmacy. Sadly eastbourne not received xray request, I have not received a fit note and previous one out of date today. No prescription at Seaforth. Sadly all stressful on top of pain and worrying about work. Hopefully all sorted tomorrow after I complete another request for x ray, medication and fit note as discussed Monday.

The Surgery is always clean and welcoming. The new touch screen check in , is very straight forward and easy to see.

I had to go online to ask for a blood test which was fine. But i was given an appointment over 3 weeks later which i thought was quite a long wait just to take blood, hence the good mark and not very good. As an observer during this time of the receptionist. I found her unreceptive to every patient who disturbed her. Advised each and everyone of them that she’d be with them. She was only using her computer. People come first and a smile might have been too much but courtesy isn’t I was discussed by the approach.

Dr. Did not respond to my particular concerns. Didnt appear to have read my note. Gave me good advice, but i already do what he suggested and have been for years. Asked questions but did not respond to my answers which were that i was already following those very basic instructions. He ignored all the symptoms that were concerning me and finished up by telling me my current bp meds should be sufficient.

Because it is very hard to get to see a doctor. When phoning for an appointment, you can be on the phone for over 15 mins which is at the cost of the patient. The other Surgeries in the area do not have these problems Their patients get to see doctors. The other day there was only one Doctor in attendance at Seaforth.

It is impossible to get through on the phone and if by chance you do manage to the receptionists are just rude and say there are no appointments you should of called at 8, despite the fact I've called over 50 times since 8 and you can't get through, they then tell you to call again tomorrow, which I have spent months doing. I recently got through to make an appointment yet over 2 weeks later I've still not been allowed to physically see a doctor as apparently you have to take in samples to be tested before this is possible. You'll be dead before anything gets done, find a different surgery.

Very difficult to communicate with the surgery. Can take 15 - 20 minutes for the phone to be answered. Not good when you might have just a quick question. As for seeing an actual doctor well... enough said. But once you get through, the triage system works well and the senior nursing staff are first class.

Don’t feel service is very good. Wouldn’t prescribe consult advised medication, or repeat of that for ongoing treatment. Appointments are impossible to gain. Personal information updates appear too difficult to do correctly despite writing in and asking receptionist to update during visit. I end up suffering instead of wasting time trying to obtain an appointment which is often so far off the ailment has resolved itself by self medication.

I have a needle phobia and have been seeing Debbie for my (first ever) blood tests as my current acne medicarion requires monitoring. I have had 4 tests in 4 months and feel absolutely fine with blood tests now. Debbie has been reassuring, kind and incredibly good at her job. I felt at ease from the first appointment and she gave me practical advice on how to manage any discomfort with the blood tests.
I also had my first smear tear this year, with a lovely lady who also put me at ease and talked me through everything that was happening so I felt safe. I am really impressed with the treatment from these 2 members of staff and cant thank them enough.

I had an appointment booked at quarter past two in the afternoon, i arrived at approximately 17 or 18 minutes past due to traffic which was no fault of my own. I attempted to sign in with the digital screen only to be told not appointment could be found, I then cued up behind four other people to speak to the receptionist and by the time i reached the front it was half past two. I was then greeted by being rather rudely told my appointment was cancelled as i was late. I explained what had happened and was then told the nurse I was meant to see came out and called my name out to the waiting room five minutes after my appointment. I was present and nobody had done this. I was then told the next available appointment wasnt for an entire week.

Why have you removed the option to send messages to the surgery about needing appointments. I thought that service was amazing as I knew that I could send a message at 6am and know that someone would get in contact with me later in the day instead now I will have to continuously call the surgery and wait on hold to get an appointment for my 2yr old son when I need to be getting my daughter ready for school
